John Smith
Most likely to sleep through an earthquake
Sire John Smith came to us at age 11. He was our first true senior rescue, and he came all the way to us from South Korea. Rebel Rescue SK and Asan’s Angels transport dogs saved from meat facilities to homes in the US through volunteers flying to major cities.
Once we met John online, we knew he was going to join our family. We waited for that call to say he had been placed with a volunteer & excitedly met him at the airport. While flying is not always an option for dogs (especially older ones), he was carefully evaluated before the flight & we felt confident in the care he received along the way.
John Smith will always be our most simple, needless dog. He has made so many strides since joining us, including sleeping on a blanket/tempurpedic bath mat instead of the floor, asking for occasional pets, looking to us for assurance during storms, sleeping sometimes in our bed, & learning to not react to humans. The joy that flooded our beings at every step on this journey with him let us know that working with seniors was totally going to become a thing for our family.
