Carmela
Biggest flirt
We have never had a dog so small until Carmy. I was at a tough place in my life, feeling like maybe saving just one more dog would help us over the hump. I put into a message board that if there were a volunteer flying from South Korea, we would love to take another rescue, thinking it would be a few months. Little did I know that the next day, we would have a volunteer leaving in 2 days with the ability to bring a friend.
With a quick text to Robin, I let her know we had a volunteer and would love to take a dog that would mesh with the personalities in our pack. Robin had recently rescued a few dogs from a puppy mill & offered that Carmela was a perfect, bite-sized 5-year-old in need of a home. A little first-class plane trip later, there she was.
It was unbelievable to hold a creature so small. Carmela loves to chill in her poofy bed, but when she wants to play or wants your attention, you are so very aware of it! Laying in a lawn chair with you (aka on top of your face so she can smother you in kisses until you literally cannot breathe) is a highlight of the day for Carmy. She will wiggle her booty this way & that to get your attention then come bop it on your foot if it doesn’t seem to be working.
Carmela is the head of the welcoming committee in this house & has no qualms about being the first to sleep next to the newcomer. We like to think she whispers about how great it is here! Carmela is the most joyous angel we will probably ever meet!
