If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Gino, then you already know why our sanctuary is called the House of Gino. Gino demands respect & can command a room. He is a fearless 16 year old rescue that was desperately in need of a human.
Gino is one of my soulmates. When I first texted Lisa at True Faithful Pet Rescue Mission, I told her we were ready for a senior & did she have anyone special in mind. She did not hesitate to say Gino & send over a photo. It was at that moment it was clear to me this dog was going to be a very prominent figure in our family.
On our first car ride together back from adoption, I quickly knew car rides were not going to be our thang. This zesty boy was all over the place & quick to show my center console he still had a mouth full of teeth & was not afraid to say he was boss. After a relentless mission to tell the console what was up, he tired himself out and collapsed effortlessly into my lap as if it was the only thing he had ever longed for.
Gino demands to be in my lap for all of my meals, next to me in bed for all of my sleeps, right beside me for all of my walks, on top of any book I am reading, inside any laundry I am folding, barking at any water bowl I am filling, desperately jumping on any chair I am sitting in, coming inside the shower with me, underneath the vaccuum I am using, or inside the dustpan when I am sleeping.
The way I feel about Gino was what finally let me know I was ready to take the next step & create House of Gino as a sanctuary for seniors to come home to & be spoiled in their final days the way we wish they had been spoiled their entire lives.
House of Gino & Co. strives to be as brave, as strong, as fearless, as mission-oriented, & as confident as Gino has always been. Love of my life, my Gene Scene.

Best outfit | I look good in literally everything but especially my special made winter hat & vest

Special needs | I am deaf, so I need to be held quite a lot & feel insecure in certain situations if I cannot see Mom or Dad
